About the Project
Aimed at the little ones, the story of ‘O Médico do Mundo‘, which seeks to honor the intensive care doctor Gustavo Carona who is also a humanitarian activist and is unable to practice his profession due to health issues, was written by Teresa Lencastre Torres and Marta Girão, and features my illustrations. The preface of the book is signed by Gustavo Carona, who reminds us that we are all ‘citizens of the World’ and emphasizes that ‘concern for others is not only imperative to the human condition, it is also the only way to be truly happy.’ The royalties from this book go towards the mission of Doctors of the World, an International Human Rights Organisation. It was such an honor and pleasure to draw this story!
About the Story
An inspiring book with activities for you to become part of the story! This is a story about a doctor who belonged to the World. His heart was enormous! It held all the countries, all the cities, all the villages, and all the children! He was inseparable from a backpack that carried hugs that healed wounds, hope that dispelled fear, freedom to play again, and respect for all the dreams in the world! One day, however, the Doctor of the World loses his backpack, but a group of children and a teacher are going to help him.
