About the Project
This special project, published by the local authority and aimed at all families with children and dogs, is an incredible partnership with the Lisbon City Council, Gebalis, and the Public Security Police.
In the book, we address the importance of respecting, knowing, and caring for our four-legged friends. It was distributed in public schools across the city and will be available in Lisbon Libraries, reaching thousands of children and families.
The author, Pedro Emanuel Paiva, reveals that he conceived an authentic journey through everyday situations of interaction with animals. On this journey, he aims to ‘challenge parents, other guardians, educators, children, and pets to strengthen emotional bonds.’ All for a single purpose: ‘the establishment of mutual understanding and respect between humans and animals, which are addressed here as pillars of serenity and healthy development.
Nós e o Nosso Cão – Amar, Cuidar e Compreender is a children’s book that educates kids on how to relate with dogs in everyday situations. Thus, throughout the book, we have a left page with the interaction situation and a right page with the Do’s and Don’ts for that situation.
Pratical Tips for Kids and Adults
The book also covers practical tips aiming kids and adults for fostering a loving and understanding relationship between children and their canine companions.
