The purpose of this contest was to submit a set of 3 sequential illustrations on the theme of ‘FREEDOM’. So, I thought about the freedom of being a child, which we still so often see corrupted by the force of Man and the wars he provokes, but also the freedom of all living beings. In this logic, I chose the Butterfly, often associated with freedom and its captivity by the child, who, realizing this imprisonment, sets it free so both can fly with the wind.
Triptych Synopsis
This triptych of Freedom is an exciting journey that portrays the transformation of a child, initially captivated by the beauty of an imprisoned butterfly, through their brave decision to set it free, and finally, their shared experience of freedom and connection as they fly together with the wind. Each panel captures a significant moment of this journey, highlighting the importance of compassion, letting go, and celebrating freedom, both for those who grant it and for those who receive it.
