About the Project
This project was the result of my participation, in 2024, in the annual children’s literature contest promoted by the supermarket chain Pingo Doce (Portugal). After I read the story I found it so funny that I decide to compete in the illustration category. Even though I didn’t win, it was really fun to illustrate it.
About the Story
“Eu e o segredo do Faraó” is a delightful and heartwarming children’s story about Artur, a determined 9-year-old boy who dreams of having a dog. Despite his many attempts, his parents refuse to give him one, but Artur’s persistence and creativity lead him to a surprising adventure. When he finally finds a furry companion named Faraó, Artur must navigate the challenges of hiding his new friend, convincing his family, and taking responsibility for his new pet.
With humor, friendship, and the boundless imagination of a child, this story explores the themes of responsibility, family, and the joy of having a pet. It’s a playful journey that resonates with young readers and animal lovers alike.
